Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs): Where flexibility meets innovation. Revolutionizing how we stay connected in dynamic environments. So here are 6 characteristics of MANET.
- Dynamic Topologies: Network topology, which is normally multihop, can provide unidirectional or bidirectional linkages and can fluctuate randomly and quickly over time.
- Bandwidth constrained, variable capacity links: Wireless links usually have lower reliability, efficiency, stability, and capacity as compared to a wired network.
- Autonomous Behavior: Every node exhibits independent behaviour by functioning as both a host and a router.
- Energy Constrained Operation: Since some or all of the nodes get their energy from batteries or other finite sources. Less power, memory, and lightweight qualities define mobile nodes.
- Limited Security: Security risks are more common with wireless networks. Because security, routing, and host setup are distributed processes, there is no need for a centralised firewall.
- Less Human Intervention: They require minimum human intervention to configure the network, therefore they are dynamically autonomous in nature.
